Only saw this on Friday but I assume this is one of the downed trees in Bushy Park , Flickr friend Peter Denton said that having talked with a ranger at Bushy Park around forty trees were lost the storms just over a week ago , either Eunice or Franklin . Apart from the trees that had fallen , everywhere I looked there were twigs , branches and all sorts of tree debris laying on the ground throughout where I walked . Indeed it seemed the deer were quite intrigued by the carpet of fallen debris . Not visible in the shot but off to the left there was a herd of deer - I did not count them but it could have well gone into three figures !!
From small things, trees they rise
Spreading wide, under the skies
As in the distance , hills are kissed
By the falling far off mist
That does descend and does hiide
The beauty of the countryside
Where sweet nature, it does sow
Small seeds that into tall trees grow

Lockdown number.2 and we’re back out walking around our local area again, weather permitting.
Taken half an hour before sunset looking across the valley towards Lumb, Mill Bank and Cottonstones. Two minutes later the sun had dipped behind the hill behind me and the golden light vanished from the trees.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
We hiked a couple miles down into the Grand Canyon on the Grandview Trail. Many lovely trees along that trail. It was originally constructed by miners to connect the rim with copper mines. The trail is narrow and steep with a drop off on one side.

For those of you that frequent John Heinz NWR, you know exactly the tree in this image. For those that don't, "the Egret Tree" is where numerous egrets and herons roost for the evening. I took this shot about 15 minutes before sunset and the light was a magnificent golden color that bathed everything it struck in warm golden tones. I only wish there were more egrets and herons in the tree ( I count 6 - 5 Great Egrets and 1 Great Blue Herons) at the time I snapped the image. Not sure if the leaves changed color on the Egret Tree or if they are brown (dead tree) and the light gave them a golden glow.
It's Wednesday and the week half through! Enjoy the rest of the evening.

When the wind blows
Did you see the cow?
We have had some really strong gusts and high winds of late. This branch has been turned into logs for the fire by now but, it was still a shame to see it laying there in the fog. No damage to the house and that is the thing I was most worried about.
Thank you for all your comments and faves, they are very much appreciated. :)
I absolutely love trees. The simple fact that they live longer than humans (if they are let) and they are way more complex than we generally give them credit for. Scientists have discovered that trees communicate with each other through a gigantic network of microscopic fungi (called mycelial network) that enables them to exchange information with each other such as warnings, storing memories and responding to attacks. Also the trees and the fungi form a symbiotic relationship where they exchange resources such as organic matter and minerals. I think that is amazing and while I always loved trees, this understanding enhances my respect and admiration for them.
The tree is more than a seed, then a stem, then a living trunk, and then dead timber. The tree is a slow, enduring force straining to win the sky.
